According to our radar! officialy, the route was established in the west of the mountain, a drive approx 3hrs from Moshi town, starts/begin at Lemosho gate where climbers typecally start trekking through dense
rainforest, heathland, and alpine zones. The route is considered to be a most beautiful route compared to the rest (5)routes,
this is because of the ''Scenic diversity, Low traffic, longer acclimatization, High success rate, Wildlife sightings, last
but not least is less crowded.
Overall, the Lemosho route is an exellent choice for those seeking a challenge and scenic climb up Kilimanjaro,
with plenty of Klimanjaro of opportunities for acclimatization relief and nature.
We generally advise that the best time to climb Kilimanjaro being during the warmest and driest times of year: from Jan to March then from June to Dec particularly in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
According to our radar! during this time sckies are clear, great view, little-to-no rain and the sunshine, however there is a always the possibility of weather changing dramatically, regardless of the season especially in the first zone of the first zone(rain forest) of the mountain.
According to our radar! a tour begins from Day 1. Moshi Town – Lemosho Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp, Day 2. to Shira 2 Camp, Day 3. to Lava Tower then Barranco Camp, Day 4. to Karanga Camp, Day 5.to Barafu The Base Camp, Day 6. to Uhuru Peak - Mweka Camp, Day 7. to Mweka Gate back Moshi Town. both styles of climbing use the same schedule from day one to the last day

STOP FOR A DAY:
Depart from your camp after an early breakfast and begin your ascent into the heather moorland zone. We will come across a good number of streams and trek on a plateau that leads to shira 2 campsite (3840m). The site is located near a stream and offers an incredible view of the western breach and its glaciers in the east. Your tents will be put up before your arrival by your crew. After arrival relax and enjoy evening snacks and a tasty drive. Beware the temperature here can be freezing.
After an early morning breakfast your group will depart from shira camp and enter the desert and rocky landscape. You shall cross Lava-Tower for acclimatization altitude gain, after a five hour long walk. Typically You may feel some discomfort due to the high altitud. Thi trek is through the alpine desert zone, descend into the Barranco Valley, and conquer the Barranco Wall.
Your group will ascend the Barranco Wall and journey to Karanga Valley, at the top the view of heim glacier is spectacular and you will be above clouds, thereafter will head to karanga valley campsite for second acclimatization and where dinner will be offered .
Ascend through the rocky and barren landscape to Barafu the base Camp, we depart from karanga and reach the intersection which connects with mweka trail. We then proceed to barafu hut, this will be the completion of southern route which offers a spectacular view of the summit from different angles. Here the group will take a stop for rest and enjoy a delisious early dinner as you should take a rest as a preparation for the summit on the next day(Mid-night).
On this day with your group will push yourself way to the summit the trek will begin around midnight, this can a bit more physically and mentally challenging compared to the other parts of the trek. After reaching Stella Point (18,600ft), we will take a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting). From Stella Point, snow may be encountered all the way on our 1-hour ascent to the summit. Your time at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa will be brief. Take as many pictures as you want, enjoy your accomplishment and then start heading back to Stella Point. From the summit, we will immediately start our descent straight down to the Mweka Hut camp site, stopping at Barafu for lunch. . The trail is rocky and can be quite hard on the knees; trekking poles are useful. Mweka Camp is situated in the upper forest and mist or rain can be expected in the late afternoon. We will later enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and take a well-earned rest.
Following a well-earned breakfast, we will have a celebration with all the team and afterwards will have a three hours walk to mweka gate. Upon arrival at the gate you will receive your gold certificate for reaching the summit and there after head to mweka village where we will meet our driver who will take you back to your hotel for a long rest.
