The Great Migration Safari
January, February and March

Each year around January the migration movement tends to be around the southern parts of Serengeti and the northern part of Ngorongoro conservation area. The grasses around the area are nutritious making the place perfect for raising newborns. Migration safari here offers mesmerizing views of how the mothers tend to their young cubs and protects them from vicious predators.

The Great Migration Safari
April and May

After having their young ones in February and march, the wildebeest starts moving towards the northwest part of Serengeti. The movement leads the fresher grass of the central Serengeti. By may majority of animals gather around the Moru kopjes. the mating season happens around the end of may as the journey proceeds towards the western corridor of Serengeti where they meet the grumeti river.

The Great Migration Safari
June and July

As the month of June approaches the large concentration of wildebeest gather around the banks of grumeti river. Each animal will have to face their first challenge of crossing the crocodile infested river. At the beginning of July most of the animals proceeds towards the northern part of Serengeti. this time they will have to face even a bigger obstacle of crossing the mara river. The river crossing usually starts at the onset of high season in July, but time may vary according to weather changes

The Great Migration Safari
August, September and October

By august most of the herds have faced the challenge of crossing the mara river and spread throughout the Masai mara northern region. In years when the river is in full flow, the panic and confusion at the crossings — combined with waiting predators and surging currents — can cause massive loss of life. But, even in years of relatively gently flowing water, the crocs take their toll, not to mention the lions and other large predators that patrol the banks, ready to ambush any wildebeest that make it to the other side.

After brief East African rains in late October and early November, wildebeest descend from Kenya into the eastern reaches of the Serengeti beyond the Namiri Plains, an area known for the exceptional presence of cheetahs Sightings.
